How to Exfoliate Lips
To keep your lips soft and smooth, you will need to exfoliate them.
There are a number of different ways to exfoliate lips. You can use a homemade scrub, a soft toothbrush, or purchase an exfoliating scrub made especially for the lip area.
One of the simplest ways is to apply a bit of toothpaste to a soft old toothbrush or to a baby toothbrush and rub it gently on the lips.
Here are step by step directions to exfoliate your lips with an at home lip exfoliator.
1. Combine 1 tsp of sugar and 1 tablespoon of honey in a small dish. Add a small squirt of Aquaphor or Vaseline and mix together. This mixture will exfoliate lips removing dry skin tissue.
2. Rub the mixture on your lips. Use your finger or a soft toothbrush. A baby toothbrush works great. You can also use a soft washcloth.
3. Rinse your lips.
4. Apply a lip balm.
After exfoliating your lips should feel soft and delicious.
How often you exfoliate lips will depend on how dry your lips get. Medications, hormones, changes in the weather can all effect your lips. So you will need to adjust this to meet your needs.
